Orthopedic FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions:
Do I need a referral to be seen by your physicians?

This depends on your insurance. If your insurance does not require a referral we will be glad to see you without one.

Which physician do I need to see?

Based on your injury our staff will schedule you with one of our fellowship trained specialists. Each of our physicians are fellowship trained in a specific area of the body. They have received additional training beyond their general orthopaedic training to specialize in a particular body joint.

I need physical therapy and I am not sure if you are in my network?

If our physicians are in your network our therapy services are too! Our staff will check your insurance benefits and make sure you are aware of your coverage prior to receiving additional care in any of our departments.

If I require surgery where will it be performed?

Our physicians perform surgery at St. Francis Hospitals, Community Hospital South and South Emerson Surgery Center ( an Orthopaedic Surgery Center located at St. Francis South Campus).

What do I need to bring to my visit?
  • any previously taken x-rays
  • any diagnostic tests
  • a copy of your insurance card(s)
  • your referral (if your insurance requires a referral)
  • your co-pay (if required)
